NIRMAAN

Billboards are one of the most prevalent and traditional forms of advertisement. However, this wide use is followed by refuse, in the form of PVC and Vinyl which may take centuries to decompose. Through Project Nirmaan: “Crafting Ads into Art” aims to solve this problem, contributing to ecological entrepreneurship. We strive to break the vicious cycle of mismanaged disposal of billboards, by streamlining a disposal and recycling operation, which produces beautiful and efficient products. Our product range includes office supplies like L-shaped folders, and utility products such as sling-bags and make-up pouches. Our future outlook centers on responsible resource reuse. NIRMAAN focuses on enhancing livelihoods and supporting dignified lives by collaborating with ragpickers, who become our biggest supporters.

HOW IT WORKS

Collaborations are a vital part of the Nirmaan Machinery. A contact with marginalized communities such as ragpickers helps us obtain raw material, while simultaneously uplifting these communities. The close-looped system of Nirmaan follows three steps.
Our process starts with the collection of raw materials, from ragpickers, who aren’t able to profit from it elsewhere, as well as from our corporate collaborators. We also try to target mass-billboard producing corporations like some of our collaborators, to make them aware of the problem and extract raw material.
This is followed by rigorous sanitation of the flex material. Using specialized machinery, the billboards are now converted into the various range of our products, ready for use.
The products are now distributed through various pathways. Stalls, and Enactus BRAC website are our initial distribution points. Going forward, we will delve into various collaborations to create B2B channels.

BUSINESS MODEL

Our initial product distribution strategy primarily follows a Business-to-Consumer (B2C) model. This approach allows us to engage directly with individual consumers through our dedicated Enactus BRAC website and a series of strategically placed pop-up stalls. These platforms enable us to establish a direct and personal connection with our customer base, ensuring that our products reach them efficiently and effectively.

Looking ahead, we intend to transition our focus towards a Business-to-Business (B2B) model, with a particular emphasis on supplying office materials. This strategic pivot aims to foster a sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem by building robust relationships and collaborative partnerships with various businesses. Through this model, we will cater to the specific needs of organizations by producing bulk orders, thereby optimizing our production processes and expanding our market reach.

COLLABORATIONS

We take great pride in our collaborations with a diverse array of esteemed corporations. Our partners include Respun Organisation, Box Full of Beans, Sanyam Humanware, Immence Marketing, Noisiv Consulting, Koozies Ice Cream Co., Ashok Leyland, and Emporium Digital. These partnerships significantly enhance our capabilities and reach.

In addition to our corporate collaborations, Nirmaan also works closely with numerous ragpickers, who serve as both our beneficiaries and vital sources for raw materials. This dual relationship not only supports their livelihoods but also ensures a steady supply of essential resources for our operations.
